Martin Luther King Jr. Day Free Legal Help Events

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which falls on the third Monday in January each year, the Alaska Bar Association and its partners host MLK Day free legal help clinics at locations throughout Alaska.
The next MLK Day Free Legal Help Events will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026. Times and exact locations are listed below. No appointment is required. Walk-ins are welcome!
Volunteer attorneys will provide brief legal help to low to moderate income Alaskan in need of advice for civil (non-criminal) legal issues like family law, landlord/tenant, public benefits, employment law, probate, or estate planning issues. Our Anchorage, Bethel, and Fairbanks clinics will also have attorneys advising those impacted by Typhoon Halong and helping with disaster assistance applications and appeals.
Can’t make it to an event? 24/7 free legal advice is available at Alaska Free Legal Answers, a virtual legal clinic where Alaskans can post civil (non-criminal) legal questions at no cost to be answered by volunteer attorneys licensed in Alaska. Post your questions here: https://alaska.freelegalanswers.org/
Other resources for Alaskans seeking legal help can be found here.
