On Martin Luther King, Jr. day in January each year, the Alaska Bar Association, in partnership with Alaska Court System, Alaska Legal Services Corporation, and local bar associations, host the MLK Day free legal help events at locations throughout Alaska. 

Free legal help will be available to any low to moderate income Alaskan in need of legal counsel for civil issues like family law, landlord/tenant, public benefits, employment law, probate, or estate planning issues.

Can’t make it to an event? 24/7 free legal advice is available at Alaska Free Legal Answers, a virtual legal clinic where Alaskans can post civil (non-criminal) legal questions at no cost to be answered by volunteer attorneys licensed in Alaska. How: Low to moderate income Alaskans attend a first come, first served free legal consultation with a volunteer attorney to confidentially answer questions on Alaska-based civil legal issues.
