Commissions
Diversity Commission
The Board of Governors voted in May of 2021 to create a Diversity Commission. The formation of the Commission was part of the Board’s goal to create a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse organization and to increase the membership of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in the Alaska Bar Association. The Diversity Commission was tasked with furnishing a report to the Board which identified barriers and impediments confronting BIPOC lawyers within the Bar and identified ways to better attract, recruit, retain, and support BIPOC lawyers in Alaska. On June 12, 2023, the Board of Governors of the Alaska Bar Association approved the Diversity Commission’s Final Report. For more information click on the links below.
