The Board of Governors voted in May of 2021 to create a Diversity Commission. The goal of the Commission was to create a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse organization and to increase the membership of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in the Alaska Bar Association. The Commission was set up to work from July 1, 2021, through July 1, 2022. The Board voted to extend the Commission deadline until May 2023. For more information click on the links below. In April 2022, the Board voted to reinstate the Fair and Impartial Courts (FIC) Committee’s Guidelines and 2014 Resolution.  For more information click the links below.

On October 28, 2021, the Board of Governors adopted this Statement on Alleged Member Misconduct.  The statement explains how the Bar responds to issues surrounding member misconduct.
