Law School Scholarships
Alaska Bar Association Law School Scholarships
The Alaska Bar Association offers law school scholarships to current 1st or 2nd year law students who demonstrate ties to Alaska, and an intent to return to Alaska within two years of graduation.
Applications for a scholarship must be sent to the Alaska Bar Association by March 1.
The application must include:
- Completed application form
- Proof of enrollment in law school
- Resume
- Proof of Alaska residency or an explanation of ties to Alaska
- Personal statement in which the student discusses his/her ties to Alaska, intent to return to Alaska, career goals, the reason for applying for the scholarship, and any other pertinent information he/she would like the scholarship fundraising and implementation committee to know about.
Scholarship awards will be determined in April.
The scholarship fundraising and implementation committee make all grant decisions and their decision is final. The amount and number of scholarships will be determined by the amount of money in the scholarship fund.

Scholarships are made possible by generous donations from the Alaska legal community and by a partnership with the Alaska Bar Foundation.
To donate to the scholarship fund, Bar members may log in to their dashboard and go to Online Store/make a donation, or send a check to the Alaska Bar Association, payable to the Alaska Bar Foundation (write “scholarship” in the memo line), a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax-deductible.
