Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On January 20th, the Alaska Bar Association, Alaska Court System, Alaska Legal Services Corporation, and local bar associations will host our 16^th annual MLK Day free legal help event. View the press release here.

Free legal help will be available to any low to moderate income Alaskan in need of legal counsel for civil issues like family law, landlord/tenant, public benefits, and other non-criminal issues, such as employment law, probate, or estate planning issues.

What: MLK Free Legal Help Day

Mountain View Girls and Boys Club – 315 Price Street Noon to 4 PM
Shuttles will run between the event and the following two locations from 1 PM to 4 PM:
-Shelter at 1111 E. 56^th Avenue
-Hope Center Downtown Soup Kitchen at 240 E. 3^rd Ave.

Fairbanks
UAF Community and Technical College – 604 Barnette Street (6^th Avenue Doors) 10 AM to 4 PM

Bethel
Evangelical Covenant Church 2 PM to 5 PM

Juneau
Dimond Courthouse – 123 4^th Street 9 AM to 1 PM

How: Low to moderate income Alaskans attend a first come, first served free legal consultation with a volunteer attorney to confidentially answer questions on Alaska-based civil legal issues.

Can’t make it to the event? 24/7 free legal advice is available at Alaska Free Legal Answers, a virtual legal clinic where Alaskans can post civil (non-criminal) legal questions at no cost to be answered by volunteer attorneys licensed in Alaska.
