About the Clinic

This clinic will likely be scheduled during the Alaska Federation of Natives Convention (October 22-24, 2026) in Anchorage. Check back here in August for exact date and time. 

The Elizabeth Peratrovich Legal Clinic has been held annually since 2011 in Anchorage at the Alaska Federation of Natives Convention in October. Low-income Alaskans can drop in for a 20-30 minute free consultation with a volunteer lawyer about a variety of non-criminal legal issues, such as divorce/custody, housing, public benefits, employment, probate, and debt issues.  

Check back here in August for the exact time, date, and room where the clinic will be held.

What to Expect

Volunteer attorneys will provide brief legal help to low to moderate income Alaskan in need of advice for civil (non-criminal) legal issues. 

1️⃣ An intake volunteer will briefly ask about your legal issue. 
2️⃣ You will be matched with a volunteer attorney.
3️⃣ Attorneys will provide short consultations (about 20–30 minutes)

No appointment is required. Walk-ins are welcome! You may have to wait briefly until an intake volunteer is available.

Legal Issues We Can Help With

Volunteer attorneys will provide brief legal help to low to moderate income Alaskan in need of advice for civil (non-criminal) legal issues on: 

 Family Law (divorce, custody, child support) 
 Probate  
 Housing, landlord-tenant issues 
 Public benefits 
 Consumer/Debt issues and disputes over personal property 
 Employment, personal injury, and other non-criminal legal issues

How to Attend the Clinic

This is an in-person clinic on the second floor of the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage (exact room to be announced in August on this page). No appointment or pre-registration is required.  

If you have documents related to your legal question, please bring them! For example, if you have filed for divorce, bring a copy of your petition and any court orders. If you are a tenant and have a dispute with your landlord, bring a copy of your lease. If there is a delay in receiving public assistance, bring any letters you have received from the Division of Public Assistance.
