Sections

To view membership information for each Alaska Bar Association section, visit our Section Member Directory

Section membership is open to all active, inactive and retired members in good standing with the Alaska Bar Association. Section membership is also open to any member of the public as associate members. There is no automatic section enrollment or renewal of section members. Section membership runs from January 1st – December 31st. The first section is free for Alaska Bar members, and each additional section is $15. Sections are $15 each for associate members.

Visit our How to Join a Section page for more information.

Forming a new section requires a core minimum group of 10 people. Organizational meetings can be held at the Bar office. An interim chairperson should be selected until such time as regular elections can be held. The names of all interested persons should be forwarded to the Board of Governors along with a letter requesting the formation of a new section. The Board will vote on the matter at its next regularly scheduled meeting.

View our page on Forming a New Substantive Law Section for complete information.
