What is Denali KidCare?
Denali KidCare provides health care coverage for pregnant women and people under the age of 19 who are low income. There is no cost to pregnant women and children under 18 who qualify. Teens who are 18 and older may have to pay a small amount for some medical services. More information on the program can be found here.

How do I apply for Denali KidCare?
If you think you may qualify for Denali KidCare services, you can apply online through the state website or through the federal health insurance marketplace. You may also apply over the phone by calling 1-800-478-7778 or by completing a paper application and either mailing it or returning it in person to a public assistance office. A list of public assistance offices can be found on the last page of the paper application for Denali KidCare benefits.
What do I have to do to keep receiving benefits?
To continue receiving benefits, you must reapply every 12 months. There are several ways to reapply. You should receive a form in the mail to fill out and send back within a given time period. If for some reason you do not receive the form in the mail, you can contact Denali KidCare by phone at 1-800-478-7778 or email them at doh.dpa.info@alaska.gov. You should make sure to do this before 12 months has passed so you don’t lose your health care coverage.
